FAQ

We welcome all to worship here: those who are strong in faith and those who are seeking, those who are hurting and those who give comfort; all who are drawn to worship, community, and faith.

We acknowledge and celebrate the rich diversity within and around us. As a community rooted in the body of Christ, we commit ourselves to creating a space where people of all races, ages, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions are not only included but deeply valued and seen as essential to our shared journey.

Together, we value human diversity as a divine gift and blessing—a reflection of God’s boundless creativity and love. Because of this, we commit ourselves in ministry to fully embracing all people and advancing racial equity in our ministry.

We recognize that we hold a variety of beliefs, perspectives, and lived experiences; and yet we gather in Christ to worship God together. If you have questions, feedback, or needs for assistance, please ask. We seek to grow together in ministry, community and faith, and we are glad that you are here with us today.

~ The People of Como Park Lutheran Church

What do Lutherans at Como Park Lutheran Church believe?

We believe that every person is created and loved by God.

At the center of our faith is the good news that God's grace comes to us as a gift. We don't earn God's love. We receive it. In response, we seek to love our neighbors, serve our community, and grow in faith together.

We are a Christ-centered congregation rooted in scripture, shaped by grace, and committed to serving others.

What do Lutherans at Como Park Lutheran Church do?

We worship, pray, learn, sing, serve, and share life together.

You will find us gathering for worship on Sunday mornings, supporting one another through life's joys and challenges, serving our neighbors, and partnering with ministries locally and around the world.

As part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), we also support disaster response, hunger ministries, global mission work, community development, and social service organizations throughout the country and beyond.

What kind of Lutherans are you?

We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

We value thoughtful faith, meaningful worship, lifelong learning, and active service. Our congregation includes people from many different backgrounds and perspectives, united by a shared commitment to following Jesus and loving our neighbors.

Our worship is rooted in Lutheran tradition while remaining warm, welcoming, and accessible.

What do you believe about scripture?

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and an important guide for faith and life.

We read scripture through the lens of the Gospel—the good news of God's love revealed in Jesus Christ. We take the Bible seriously and seek to understand its message in ways that help us grow in faith, deepen our relationships, and serve the world around us.

What do you believe about science?

We see science and faith as partners, not opponents.

Learning, discovery, and curiosity are gifts from God. Scientific knowledge helps us better understand the world, while faith helps us consider how we live, care for one another, and steward creation.

What if I'm LGBTQIA+?

You are welcome here.

Como Park Lutheran Church welcomes people of every sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, race, ethnicity, background, and life experience. We believe that all people are created in God's image and are loved by God.

Serving others is an important part of who we are.

We partner with organizations and ministries in Saint Paul, throughout Minnesota, and around the world. You can learn more on our Partner Ministries page.
