CPLC Quilters is a group that creates quilts in CPLC's Fellowship Hall every Tuesday from 9 AM to 1 PM. We welcome all ages to join us as we fellowship and/or sew. We appreciate all donations (bed sheets, pillow cases, materials, etc.). Feel free to drop off your donations to the Quilters at CPLC.

Joyful Ringers Rehearsals

The Joyful Ringers welcome newcomers every year. We rehearse every Wednesday from 6-7 PM in the sanctuary beginning September 2025 until June 2026. We ring once a month during Sunday worship service. If you can count 1 to 4, and you know your right hand from your left hand, then you could be a Joyful Ringer!

CONFIRMATION 2025-2026
(Grades 7th, 8th, & 9th)

Confirmation at Como Park Lutheran Church is a three-year program, with Grades 7th & 8th alternating between Catechism and Lutheranism one year, and Bible Stories the next. This is the Catechism and Lutheranism year. An outline of lesson topics will be provided.

In 9th Grade, the confirmands join with the Youth Group on Wednesday nights. They spend the first part of the year thinking through personal faith statements or personal mission statements, which they write out (1 page, more or less) before a confirmation interview with the pastor that is scheduled in the spring. Confirmation Sunday for 9th Graders is the Sunday after Easter, April 27, 2025. It’s not too early to put it on your calendars.

It's also worth noting that Ash Wednesday, Midweek Lenten, and Holy Week worship services are considered part of the Confirmation program. The 7th-9th Grade Youth will meet with David Osterhouse following Wednesday midweek services for 20-40 minutes and debrief the topic and meditation of that night's worship.

What time do we meet? Both Confirmation and Youth Group begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights and run for one hour; although, Youth Group may run slightly longer. The first night of Confirmation and Youth Group this year is Wednesday, September 11th. The 7th and 8th Graders meet in the Fireside Room. The 9th Graders and the Youth Group meet in the Youth Room. Can friends come? Absolutely, as long as they are willing to participate.

CPLChoir Rehearsals

Do you like to sing in the shower or hum along with the radio? Then, CPLChoir may be the place for you! Help us lead worship and give praise to God through song. The choir sings roughly three out of every four Sundays. Rehearsals begin on September 3, 2025, and is every Wednesday from 7:15 to 8:45 pm in the sanctuary until May of 2026. Can't be there every time because of work or family commitments? No problem. We use a sign up system so that the Music Director knows how many singers will be present each Sunday and plan music accordingly. Can't read music? No problem. We learn the music, reading skills, and singing skills by sight and by ear each week in rehearsal. So, come make a joyful noise to the Lord in CPLChoir.
