CPLC Volunteers help at Keystone Free Farmer’s Market Event
On Friday, October 4, 2024 Keystone Community Services held a Free Farmer’s Market at Roseville Covenant Church. The Free Farmer’s Markets program is another way that Keystone is helping to provide access to healthy food. As prices for gas and groceries rise, more families are turning to Keystone’s food shelves to help stretch their budgets and provide needed meals.
A team of 15 CPLC volunteers joined volunteers from Roseville Covenant Church, North-Suburban Lions Club and RBC Financial to help pack and distribute produce bags into vehicles. This event provided fresh produce to over 475 households.
These events cannot happen without the help of volunteers. Both Keystone Community Services and the people that received food were very appreciative of the service. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this a successful community event!
In addition, a reporter from NineNorth Media covered the event—to watch the video: https://youtu.be/0XIyGizErlo
Upcoming in November, we will be collecting non-perishable food items at church to help Keystone stock their shelves ahead of the holiday season.
With gratitude,
Sue
